I have some in the fridge right now, chilling. I tried some straight out of the blender and it tastes great, can't wait to actually have it on some bread!

That's awesome! Some weeks ago I made a spread using smoked tofu. As Alice already mentioned, there's no Liquid Smoke here in Germany, but smoked tofu is not so expensive.

Hmmm...I'm very intrigued by this recipe. I've made lots of toru spreads, but never with liquid smoke and Peanut butter. it really sounds wonderful....I think I'll try it.

Thanks all for your lovely comments!

Jen - that bread is my favorite! It's called "varrasleipä" in Finnish, but yep, there's nothing quite like it...

Abram - this isn't very much like Tofutti, since texturewise, Tofutti is an imitation of cream cheese, and my spread has more of a tofu feel. Sort of lighter, and not as firm as Tofutti - I hope this helps!

That looks and sounds delicious! I will have to try it myself, as I much prefer to make my own foods than to buy highly processed products at the grocery store. How does it compare to Tofutti, if you're familiar with it?

Wow, the spread looks great. I have to admit, though, what I'm crazy about is the BREAD in this picture! It looks soooooooooooooo good! I'm not sure I can find anything quite like it around here in Iowa :-(

Alice - I buy liquid smoke at an American grocery in Helsinki, but I think some other places sell it also - like specialty spice shops or big supermarkets. But no, it's not very easy to find. Smoked tofu is very expensive in Finland too, so we do treasure our bottle of liquid smoke!

Mmmm. Was it easy to find the liquid smoke? I've been searching without success... Otherwise I think it's a great idea, similar to the packaged stuff, but cheaper!
