Hi Moira,

thanks for the tip! I think the local Asian grocery store has a vegan oyster sauce available, we'll have to try that one.

If you're interested in Finnish food I heartily recommend Malitsu's blog, there's a lot more Finnish recipes than on our site. We do have a few as well.

Hi There,
I also make this but I add a splash of oyster sauce then at the end a couple of sliced red chillies. It is so delicious. Just thought you might like to try it out. I am Australian but live in Germany and I love Finland! I am so happy to have found your site because I want to experiment with Finish food.

Dave, I agree that Aseanic trading and Vii Voan just around the corner are the best shops for Asian ingredients. For Middle-eastern stuff, I recommend Al Marwan on Fleminginkatu.

What a weird coincidence that I find your page for fried morning glory.

We were eating in New Bamboo yesterday and asking about where they recommend for asian ingredients and they mentioned Aseanic but not the street address. Now we have all the info we need and more.

Thanks for your blog

Hi!

Thanks for your comment and nice words.

Actually, we've been planning to write a post about our history as vegans, so you can expect more biographical information soon. =)

Unfortunately I don't know a lot about the different varieties of morning glory. According to the Wikipedia article, there are over 1000 species of flowering plant under the name of morning glory, so I suggest you ask a local plant expert for help!

Hi: I also heard about your website from the Mahanandi site. You have lovely pictures and interesting recipes - they look easy to try. How interesting that you are living a vegan lifestyle in cold Northern Europe. Do you have a backstory link on your site (how did you come to this choice, do you get peppered with silly questions, etc.)? Food question: is the 'morning glory' the same plant that grows wild all over (purple, trumpet shaped, flowers)? Can we just harvest it from the hedge and try this?

Hi!

Glad you like our recipes!

"Dl" stands for "deciliter", which is about 0,4 cups. Or 1 cup is 2,5 deciliters. We have included a unit converter in the sidebar of our blog, which you can use to convert the units in metric system to your preferred units.

Hi Anni and Heikki,
I came here via Mahanandi. What a lovely collection of recipes you have! I have a question - in your ingredient list, you us "dl" as a measurement, does it stand for a cup?
